OVERVIEW
A cough occurs when your system is responding to irritants, usually caused by an infection from a cold, flu, allergies, or dry air.

There are two types of coughs:

Productive Cough
This type of cough is your body fighting the virus and trying to remove it from your chest and lungs. These remedies will help loosen the mucus for your body to get rid of the virus easier.

Dry “Barking” Cough
This type of cough can be caused by a cold, flu, allergies, or croup, and can cause a “barking” sound during a cough.
